Contact Lenses
There are many choices available today for patients who wear contact lenses. Contacts are more comfortable to wear than ever, and new advances continue to make contacts an option for people with various types of refractive errors. Clay Eye has extensive training and experience in fitting all types of contact lenses. Ask our optometrists about bifocal contact lenses and other options. We offer a variety of contact lens types which include:
- AcuVue
- CIBA
- Bausch & Lomb
- Proclear
- Freshlook
We offer daily replacement, daily two-week, lenses for astigmatism and rigid gas permeable. We also specialize in hard-to-fit eyes in addition to post operative conditions.
Kerataconus Contact Lenses
Intacs prescription inserts for keratoconus provide a unique new option to improve a patient's vision and quite possibly defer a corneal transplant. Intacs are indicated for the correction of nearsightedness and astigmatism for patients with keratoconus where contact lenses and glasses no longer provide suitable vision.
For keratoconic patients who cannot or do not want to wear contact lenses, Intacs offer a less threatening option than a corneal transplant. Most physicians would prefer to delay a corneal transplant and to make it the option of last resort. Intacs prescription inserts make this a possibility by improving functional vision.
